Tai chi is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. 

​Tai Chi consists of many different styles. Each style may have its own subtle emphasis on various principles and methods. (There are also variations within each style). Some may focus on health maintenance, while others focus on the martial arts aspect of Tai Chi Chuan. Tai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi practice is probably best known today for its phenomenal health benefits; relaxation, lowering blood pressure, reducing stress, improving strength and flexibility, and much more, but it was originally developed as a martial art.  The practice of Tai Chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. With movements performed in a slow, focused manner, accompanied by deep breathing, making it very low impact and a perfect discipline for men and women of all ages.  It involves intense concentration on your immediate activity with an emphasis on complete relaxation.  This combination of the mind being focused on the body’s soft, fluid movements is one reason Tai Chi is often referred to as "meditation in motion”.
